Extending the Story

Story time is extremely important!  So important that you don’t want to skip it.  There are so many different skills children learn through story time such as, attending, vocabulary expansion, and it broadens their horizons.  One way to enhance a child’s learning is to extend the story.  What this means is that you can choose activities outside of story time to integrate into the child’s day; For example, making “Stone Soup” with the family and inviting others to bring in one vegetable or other food to add in the “Stone Soup.” https://tinkergarten.com/activities/stone-soup  Below you will find additional resources and ideas on extending other popular stories.
