A Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) is a process that seeks to identify behaviors that are interfering with a child’s learning in the home, school, or the community.  An FBA provides recommendations to reduce or replace the behaviors that are interfering with a child’s learning.  The ideal professional to conduct an FBA is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) due to their advanced knowledge in behavior analysis and completion of a rigorous licensing procedure. Observations can be conducted both in-person or remotely via video interactions with the child and his/her educational or therapy teams, or through live video streams.
